Kirkwood Cabin

This project is for a family of 4 as a second home in the Sierra. The goal was to provide a small home, on a steeply sloped lot with views to the North/North East from Kirkwood valley. The home is currently designed at 1600sf with an attached 2 car garage. The owner requested ICF block construction for the exterior walls for energy efficiency and long term durability. Snow shedding and protection was essential in the design to protected entries, so a metal shedding roof was employed to carefully redirect the snowfall.
