Alan’s Auto

Alan’s auto is a small independently owned auto dealership on Kietzke Lane in Reno, Nevada. The owners approached Magnin Architecture to develop a schematic design and navigate a special use permit through the City of Reno, which was subsequently waived. The goal was to update the property to increase visual street presence, property value, and rebrand the business to compete with some of the larger auto dealerships in the area.

The project consists of two new buildings, a 2,500 square foot sales office and a 4,000 square foot maintenance/detailing garage. Both were designed from stack bond CMU block— driven by the owner’s requirement to have her brother, a masonry contractor, build the project. 

The existing blighted buildings have been deemed unusable and will be demolished. The brown field lot remediation has been completed by the owner prior to starting this development. The project is slated to start construction in the summer of 2020.
